Here we are in the Easter Season! We have made it through our Lenten journey, ready for the celebrations and the Alleluias. With snow that arrived after the first day of Spring, we are certainly prepared for warmer weather, beautiful flowers, and outdoor gatherings.

While we participate in the celebrations of Easter, we can still keep the service that we offered through Lent as part of our disciplines. John Wesley reminds us:

Do all the good you can

By all the means you can

In all the ways you can

In all the places you can

To all the people you can

As long as ever you can.

Blessed Angela, the Foundress of the Felician Sisters, certainly worked to do all the good she could. She struggled to maintain the practices of her congregation during the Russian occupation of Poland. The authoritarian regime forced her Sisters to disband and disperse, but they kept their focus and persevered through these trials to come back together once they were able to and to continue to grow and serve those in need around them. What a model she provided for us all in continuing to do all the good we can to all the people we can.

Just before Holy Week, the members of the Manitowoc Chamber leadership class with representatives from all over the area spent two days repainting the interior of InCourage, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. This model of leadership and giving of oneself shows us the possibilities for us all to contribute to the betterment of those around us. Thanks to our CEO Luke Schubert for giving his time in this manner. Proverbs 16:3 tells us “Entrust your works to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.

Blessed Angela: “Desire more and more to grow in the love of God; holy desires are like wings which transport the soul to heaven.”
