Transitional care and rehabilitation services at Next Step help patients bridge the gap between hospital and home. Patients are able to focus on returning to their own surroundings as they recover from conditions such as hip or knee replacement, back surgery, stroke, wound care, IV therapy, or complications to medical illness such as congestive heart failure and pneumonia.

St. Mary's at Felician Village has been offering rehabilitative therapy services for approximately 30 years. Over that time, these residents were admitted to rooms throughout much of the nursing home. To better meet the needs and expectations of these residents, we are providing a dedicated unit with an updated appearance and several additional amenities.

Our 21 transitional care rooms at Next Step are fully furnished for the convenience of patients and include carpeting, window treatments, phone and TV. Following a Resident First philosophy, our professional staff of nurses, therapists and other caregivers respect the individual needs of each patient. We offer:

• Short-term comprehensive rehabilitation services
• Physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology seven days a week
• Dining room/lounge for patients to enjoy
• Three meals daily
• Therapy that meets the patients schedule
• Housekeeping services
• Phones in every room
• TV with DVD/VCR and free access to cable channels
• Use of a computer with internet access and printer in the resident lounge
• Access to leisure and social activities (games, movies, books)
